President’s letter

Dear Friends and Colleagues

We will be holding our annual meeting on Sunday September 10 th, 2017 in Chicago at the Ming Hin Cuisine Restaurant on S. Archer Ave. Part of the KASS scientific session has been incorporated into the AAO-HNS International Symposium on Sunday afternoon followed by our annual meeting, 2 dinner lectures, and a dinner reception later that evening at the Ming Hin Cuisine. The two KASS panels on will be discussing “Recent Advances in the Management of Chronic Sinusitis” and “Cochlear Implant Beyond Speech Perception”. Later that evening during our annual meeting, the guest lecturers will be Dr. Mark Wax and Dr. Blake Papsin.

Since the creation of the Korean American Otolaryngology Society in 1989, our Society has continued to develop stronger relationship with our American Academy of Otolaryngology & Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS) and the Korean Soceity of Otorhinolaryngology (KSORL). We have been offering several travel grants a year for Otolaryngologist in training from the United States and Korea to attend the AAO-HNS annual. This year we will also be sponsoring an International Visiting Scholarship through the AAO-HNS.

As our Society continues to grow, we will need more involvements from our members. You can get more involved by contacting any of our KAOS officers or board members listed on the website. Through the Society, we hope that the members will be able to connect with each other, not just among the US otolaryngologists but also between US and Korean otolaryngologists. Our Society provides a platform for mentorship and connection for both personal and business purposes.

I hope to see you at our annual meeting on Sunday. Please support the Korean American Otolaryngology by paying the annual dues. By paying for your membership, the annual KASS meeting registration is free. By the way, the Ming Hin restaurant is within walking distance from the Convention Center. Look forward to see you there!

Sincerely

Joseph K Han, MD
